Christ UMC has been around since 1875--we are celebrating 150 years in 2025! While the congregation has transformed in various ways over the years, CUMC is now part of the United Methodist Church. Founded by English brothers John and Charles Wesley in 1738, Methodism is based on the principles of grace through faith expressed in preaching, writing, song, mutual care and outreach to others and was officially founded as we know it today in 1968.

Christ UMC strives to stay connected to our roots while also staying relevant to the needs and experiences of present life. Our mission for the last 25+ years means we are always evaluating how to most effectively minister to those around us.

Christ UMC has a rich history that has led us to multiple locations throughout Lansdale.
We have even been known by different names. We have undergone numerous
construction projects. And yet the people of Christ UMC have remained faithful no
matter their location or name to following God’s call to make disciples for the
transformation of the world.

With ministries for all ages, a thriving preschool, and free church events geared toward including the greater community, we're sure you will find something to get you connected. The united methodist church
The United Methodist Church is a 12.3-million-strong global church that opens hearts, opens minds, and opens doors through active engagement with our world. John Wesley and the early Methodists placed primary emphasis on Christian living, on putting faith and love into action. This emphasis on what Wesley referred to as "practical divinity" has continued to be a hallmark of United Methodism today.

As part of the 2018 remodel of our church lobby, Christ UMC sought to make the best use of our space as we reflected on what success in our mission--transforming lives in the love of Jesus Christ--would look like in the future. This reflection helped us make our space more accessible and more open for fellowship, and allowed us to redefine our vision statement:
