Meet our Staff

  • Gary Nicholson, Senior Pastor

    Pastor Nicholson came to Christ UMC in July of 2016.  He has a BA in History from Albright College and an M DIV from the Divinity School, Duke University.  Gary is married to wife Pam Nicholson, they are the parents of a married son and daughter.  He enjoys hiking and birding, reading classic novels, and traveling.  Pastor Nicholson formerly served as the superintendent of the 85 churches on the Northwest District of the EPA Conference.  Gary states, "God's amazing love has touched my life and I want to extend that love to others in all I do or say.  I am committed to helping people meet Christ, become more like Christ and have a Christ-like impact on their community."

  • Tawny Bernhardt, Pastor of Children's Ministries

    Since July of 2013, Pastor Bernhardt has been serving at Christ UMC.  She has a Bachelor of Arts from Messiah College and an MDIV from the Divinity School, Duke University. Tawny is married to Paul Bernhardt and together they have a daughter, Naomi and a cat named Gwen.  She enjoys spending time with family, taking walks and drinking coffee.  Pastor Bernhardt says, "I love serving our Lord and the families in our community!"

  • Eric Chelton, Assistant Pastor & DIrector of Student Ministries

    Pastor Chelton has been at Christ UMC for 10 years, but in July of 2014 he officially joined the staff in his current role.  Eric has a BA in Music Therapy from Mansfield University, a PCH Administrators License and LLP Certification.  Eric is married to our Music Director Miki and together they have two daughters, Belle and Lucy (not to mention 3 dogs, a cat and a chinchilla).  He enjoys cooking, watching movies and camp fires.  He also claims that he can jump higher than a house (you should definitely ask him to prove this statement).  Pastor Chelton says, "I truly love what I am doing for the church.  I enjoy visiting people in the hospital, working with committees and especially watching the confirmands grow."

  • Marge Kramer, Director of COngregational Care

    Marge Kramer is a long time member at Christ UMC who joined the staff in July of 2017.  She is an appointed and trained Christ Servant Minister, as well as a Certified Lay Minister.  Marge is happily retired from a career in sales.  She and her husband Bruce live in Montgomery Township.  She leads our Care Ministry team.  Marge loves to read, travel and entertain family and friends!  Her favorite thing about Christ UMC is, "the caring and sharing that happen here.  One needs to look no further than Christ UMC to understand what it means to be a part of a church family!"

  • Kristin Iseman, Office Manager

    We are excited to welcome Kristin to our staff in July 2019. We'll let you know more about her, and how to contact her, once she settles in.

  • Kara Johnson, Secretary

    Kara Johnson came to our church in July of 2016.  In fact she started VBS week and handled it like the professional that she is.  Kara has a BA in Communication and Media Studies from Georgetown College.  Kara is married to Kevin Johnson and together they thoroughly spoil their dogs, Petey and Pogo.  Kara loves reading, baking and being social.  The Friday morning folding crew are regular taste testers for her wonderful baking and they can all vouch for her excellent skills.   Kara says, "I have had many types of jobs, in four different states, over the course of my life, but being the secretary at Christ UMC has been my absolute favorite!"

  • Miki Chelton, Music Director

    Miki Chelton has been the Music Director at Christ Church since 2007 and began here as a handbell choir director in 2006.  Miki has a Bacehlor in Music in Music Education from Mansfield University and a graduate degree in Music Therapy from Immaculata College.  She directs our Chancel (adult) choir, 3 bell choirs and our Jesus Jammerz.  Miki is married to our own Pastor Eric and is mom to Belle and Lucy. Miki serves as a girl scout leader and crazy cookie mom - her daughters sell 800-1100+ cookies every year!  Miki can peel a banana with her toes while playing a recorder and has won a contest doing so!  When she isn't busy with choirs or girl scouts she enjoys crafting. Miki says, "I enjoy my choirs because the people I work with are wonderful and great musicians and they make me smile!  They help me in many ways and forgive me when I mess up."

  • Katie Campbell, ORganist and Youth Choir director

    Katie Campbell became the Christ UMC Organist in 2008.  She has a Bachelors of Music with organ as the primary instrument from Syracuse University and a Masters in Music Education from Ithaca College.  Katie is married to husband Iain and they have two children, Malcolm and Evangeline.  Katie has played organ for district ordination twice and has studied organ at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg, France.  Katie started playing the organ in high school, "I had been playing piano since 1990 and started organ lessons my junior year of high school after being offered a once-a-month organist job at an Anglican church and then fell in love with the organ!"  She loves salsa dancing, hiking and interior decorating.

  • Elysa Dalbow, Choir and Praise Band Director

    Elysa has been worshipping at Christ UMC since her childhood and has been a member of our staff for over 10 years.  She directs the Agape Ringers (Youth bell choir), and leads Fish Food, our contemporary praise band as well as Grace in Progress, our youth praise band.  Elysa graduated from West Chester University in 2003 with a Bachelors' Degree in Liberal Studies and a minor in music.  "I love being a part of the music ministry at Christ UMC.  I am inspired and blessed on a regular basis by the members of my groups.  I am thankful for the challenges of leading worship, as those challenges help me find solutions that lead to new ways to praise God."  Elysa is a project manager at Bracket in Langhorne, PA and lives in North Wales with her husband Brian and their cats Ninja and Chub Chub.

  • Sherry Harris, Carol Choir and Precious angels Director

    Sherry Harris directs our upper elementary Carol Choir, where she has served as director for 15 years, our youngest choir, Precious Angels, and the Laudate Ringers. She teaches Sunday School, directs our annual Sunday School pageant, and rings in the Gloria Dei bell choir.  Sherry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Cytotechnology from Upstate Medical Center.  "One of the most important aspects of my role as Children's Choir Director is to help the children learn about God and His amazing love for them.  Through scripture-based music, I am able to teach our children about our Lord and help them as they begin their Christian walk.  My hope for all of the children is that they know they are cared for and are encouraged in their faith journey."  Sherry is married to Bruce and the mother to daughters Kim, Christina and Carrie.

  • Linda Wagner, Cherub Choir and Melody Chimes Director

    Linda Wagner has been a member of our music staff for 15 years and directs the Cherub Choir (lower elementary) and Melody Chimes (Children's bell choir) and sings in the Chancel Choir.  Linda grew up singing in church choirs and school choruses. She also studied piano for nine years and trumpet for four years.  "Music has been a large part of my life since my early elementary school years, and I had a wonderful example in my mother who has served as a church pianist/organist for 60 years and a choir director for many of those years.  I enjoy working with the children in our church and continue to be inspired by them and their parents. I love teaching the children about music and how we can use music to praise God."  Linda shares her downtime with husband Mike and daughter Joanna.  She works at Merck as a biologist.

  • Mary Conroy, Preschool Director

    Mary Conroy has been our preschool director for 20 years.  She has a BS in Human Development and Family Counseling from the University of Connecticut and a Masters of Education in Early Childhood Special Education from Wheelock College.  Mary lives in Telford with her husband Bob and they have two adult daughters, Caitlin and Sarah.  Mary loves working with preschoolers, "Preschool-aged children embrace their early experiences with such awe and wonder that never fails to keep me inspired.  The sweetness, authenticity and openness of the young child is, at once, humbling and hopeful and reminds me of how fortunate I am for the privilege of working in early childhood education".  When not at work Mary enjoys reading, taking walks and family get togethers.
