Christ umc events

-- encounter christ --

Christ UMC has many events! Just a few examples include monthly small group gatherings, quarterly blood drives, and our large annual events like Vacation Bible Camp and the Santa Breakfast. If you are hoping to register for an event, get more information about something, or just get a snapshot of what we're doing in the next few weeks, you are in the right place!

If you are looking to volunteer or assist with an event, please visit the Volunteer Sign Ups page.

If there is an event you are looking for that seems to be missing, registration may not be open yet. You can always call 215-855-1643 or email the church office to get more information.

  • We hope your child will join us for our Good Friday Children's Event on April 3rd! Most kids (and adults) wonder why we call Good Friday "Good". Our Good Friday event is an event meant to help your child answer that question.

The event runs from 10 AM - Noon. It is free!

During this event, children hear the story of Holy Week, leading up to Easter through story, games, craft, and snack. This year we will focus our attention on how much God loves your child, and we will be learning some fun new songs and going on a hunt to find Jesus.

A snack will be served. This event is open for all children 4 years-6th grade, and children are separated into age groups for parts of the event. Sign up here! Registration will close on March 29th to give us time to prepare!

If you want to volunteer during the event, please let Pastor Tawny know.

  • We hope you can join us for breakfast this Easter, immediately following the 6:30 AM Sonrise service. If you are interested in making a food donation, please sign up here.  Contact Pat or Mike Jula with questions. Thank you and have a blessed Easter!

  • Calling all yard-work pros and caffeine-powered cleanup crews! We need you to lend a hand during the upcoming Property Cleanup Day on April 11th from 9 - 11 AM. Bring your favorite tools (gloves, rakes, shovels) to help with a variety of outdoor tasks. Stay the whole morning or just stop by for a little while–every helping hand makes a difference!

  • We need your ideas for spending the available 2026 funds of approximately $3,000! The funds can be used for areas of Missions, Christian Education, and Church property improvements that are not covered by the church budget. Use the form here to submit your idea. Include as much information about your idea as possible, including estimated cost and your name and contact information. We will be accepting suggestions through April 13th. Items selected for our 2025 spending included a contribution for the new altar railings, a receptacle for flowers for the columbarium, a contribution for Nativity scene repairs, pans for the Santa breakfast, 8 thermal carafes, and a new kitchen air conditioner. We look forward to your ideas!

  • On Monday, April 13th, at 1:30, we'll gather at Harborview Rehab and Care Center,  25 W Fifth Street in Lansdale, where we will lead a hymn sing.

We'd like to visit here every other month, so look for future dates. If you can join us on April 13th to spread some cheer, please sign up on the SignUp Genius

Consider carpooling, as parking space is limited.

  • The CUMC Friendly Seniors invites those 60+ to join them in visiting the Pearl S. Buck House, a local National Historic Landmark, on April 15 at 11 AM for the Life and Legacy tour. See the home, furnishings, and artifacts of this famed author who won both the Pulitzer Prize and Nobel Prize in literature. You may also visit the garden and stop by the Welcome Center. It’s all included in the senior price of $12/person.

Pearl Buck was an amazing woman who cared about the plight of marginalized people and advocated for civil rights and social justice. She founded Welcome House, the world’s first international biracial adoption agency. This tour will leave you in awe of the difference one person can make!

The tour is about 1 hour and 40 minutes in length. For those not wanting the challenge of 12 steps to the second floor, a portfolio of the upstairs is available on the first floor, so you won’t miss a thing! And if you don’t want to be on your feet that long, a virtual tour is available on iPad in the Welcome Center.

We need to let them know by April 1st the number attending, so please sign up now! Signups are available at the kiosk in the narthex and at this link. Please also indicate if you would like to carpool.

  • Join us on Saturday, April 18th from 9 AM - 1 PM! We will have many vendors! Come get household items, jewelry, collectibles, books, CD’s, toys, Hallmark, handmade soap, Hess trucks, Baseball cards, clothing, dolls, 1960 baby clothing, holiday items, linens, glassware, Snoopy items, 1960 toys, vintage magazines and so much more!

Our tables are fully reserved, so there is sure to be something for everyone!

  • Our friends from the Montgomery County Office on Aging will be back to bring us this new class, the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program. You do not need to have an arthritis diagnosis to attend this class. This class is beneficial for all! This program is a 13-week series featuring low-impact exercises designed to improve range-of-motion, increase endurance and reduce joint pain. Participants will have the opportunity to use range of motion equipment including hand weights, resistance loops and Pilates balls. Join us Fridays, April 17th through July 10th (no class June 19th and July 3rd) from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM. Sign up using this link or contact the office!

  • It’s spring, and time for a field trip! All women are invited to join the Susannah Wesley Circle on Saturday, April 25, for a visit to a local gem, the Michener Art Museum in Doylestown. The museum, named after world-famous author and Doylestown native James A Michener, is housed in a former jailhouse. It is home to a world-class collection of Bucks County Impressionist art as well as a replica of Michener’s office and a room dedicated to the furniture of internationally renowned Bucks County woodworker George Nakashima. In addition, there are changing exhibits for anyone who would like to explore them after our tour. For anyone who’s interested, we’ll gather in a nearby

restaurant for lunch after the museum.

Our museum admission will include a 1-hour, docent-led highlights tour, followed by free time to explore the art on our own or visit the gift shop. Our tour will begin at 10:00 at the Michener Museum entrance. Those who wish to carpool should meet at the church parking lot at 9:00.

Costs for the museum tour are $18 for seniors (65+), $20 for under age 65. The museum requires payment in advance, so please give your cash, check, or Venmo payment to Lois Stevenson no later than Sunday, April 19th.

Please use the SignUpGenius to sign up for our trip. In the Comments, indicate if you want to carpool and if you want to stay for lunch.

If you have any questions, contact Lois Stevenson. We hope to see you on April 25th!
